Classes for Massage Therapists

Ethics for Massage Therapists - 6 CEs; NCBTMB Approved Provider
This workshop will cover a variety of issues affecting massage therapists and bodyworkers. Discussions on draping, sexual massage, dual relationships and communications will be explored. Unlicensed activity and its effect on therapists and education vs. competency will be addressed.

HotStone Massage - 8 CEs; NCBTMB Approved Provider
Learn how to use hot stones while doing Swedish strokes to alleviate stress and strain to your hands, wrists and arms allowing you to work for longer periods of time. You will gain experience in how to apply hot stones to your client without hurting them.
Practice proper stone placement on your client as your are doing the massage. Also the importance of cleaning stones and roaster. You will learn the history of healing with hot stones. Marketing ideas will be discussed.

Reflexology I - 8 CEs; NCBTMB Approved Provider
Historical origins and the basic principles of Reflexology will be traced. Zones of the feet and the anatomical body will be charted on the feet. The student will learn basic Reflexology techniques such as thumb-walking, finger and hand positions, mapping and reading the feet and a protocol for a complete treatment procedure and more. Interwoven throughout 4-5 hours of hands-on work, business, ethical and workplace practice are presented. Students will perform a complete reflexology sequence on each other's feet.

Reflexology II - 8 CEs; NCBTMB Approved Provider
This class starts with review of Reflexology I. Students will learn additional treatment procedure for anatomical and physiological aspects of the body as it reflects on the feet and legs, client-therapist interaction, reflexology goals, benefits, contraindications, techniques, new reflex points and how to "work" them. Students now learn how to record and comment on their findings as they mark foot charts for each student; during this process, students focus on further developing their sensory skills and reading the feet.
